One of the first paintings after a long hiatus. Was meant to have a beard but got this far and the face looked familiar.
Inspired by the likes of George Condo, Peter Howson and Yoshitomo Nara. Looks a bit like me, which is ideal for a self portrait.

Marc Study: Birthday Boy - 2020 - Oil and pastel on canvas paper
Study for a commission. Working on some really scuffed and scratched canvas paper brought out some interesting textures and effects.
Glazes of indigo, Prussian blue, burnt umber, with thicker impasto of Naples yellow and yellow ochre.
